Imagine a World without Wires
The new Limitless™ product line combines the best of MICRO SWITCH™ global limit switches with the latest commercial off-the-shelf wireless technology. Wireless-enabled limit switches can now be used for position sensing and presence/absence detection for an endless number of applications.
The Limitless™ Series is especially beneficial for remote monitoring applications where wiring or wire maintenance is not physically possible or economically feasible. Combining this greater flexibility with proven harsh duty packaging can result in increased efficiencies and improved safety for machine and equipment OEMs and operators.
Honeywell’s Limitless™ solutions should prove to be cost-effective when compared with traditional, wired limit switch solutions based on installation costs, on-going maintenance, and wiring integrity. The WGLA Series features the strong switching specifications and the metal EN 50041 housing of the MICRO SWITCH™ GLA Series further strengthened with wireless capabilities.
Go farther. Work smarter. Explore new possibilities. Just by cutting the cord and making the switch.
Honeywell's Limitless™ switches combine every advantage you'd expect:
- More flexibility - can potentially network up to 16 switches.
- More uptime - less maintenance and reduced work disruptions.
- More savings - reduces the costs of wiring, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
- More standard options - connects using 802.15.4 RF 2.4 GHz standard radio bands.
- More diagnostics - stay aware of battery health and signal strength.
- More security - conforms to the international IEEE 802.15.4 standard and features a 16-bit address and 128-bit AES security key.

Key Answers to Your Limitless™ WGLA Series Limit Switch Questions
What about battery life?
All battery life depends on usage and
operating temperature. For example, the
more diagnostics added, the higher the
battery drain. Our switches average one
to three years of battery life, and have a
low battery signal.
What about wireless signal range?
Limitless™ devices have a 304 m/1000 ft
line-of-site range without using repeaters,
depending on antenna type.
Is there potential for cross-talk from
other wireless devices?
Each paired switch and receiver uses a
unique security key. So there is virtually
no chance for cross-talk with another
system in close proximity.
What if the RF signal is lost or
interrupted between the Limitless
switch and the monitor/receiver?
The Limitless™ Series repeatedly attempts
to re-establish the RF communication link
until successful and at the same time will
notify the user that there is an insufficient
RF signal.
How does Honeywell plan to protect an
investment in wireless?
Honeywell has developed the Limitless™
switch software to ensure that a device
you install today will be able to communicate
with replacement, additional, and new
devices in the future. |
