P+F's New Photoelectric Fiber Optic Amplifiers

Pepperl+Fuchs introduces two new lines of plastic fiber optic amplifiers, the SU18 series and SU19 series.  Both amplifiers were designed with three key customer requirements: price, performance, and simplicity.

SU18 Series

The SU18 series is a basic line of fiber amplifiers offered in either pushbutton teach or potentiometer adjustable models.  The slim, 9 mm wide housing has large highly visible LED windows that show the sensor's status, along with slide switches for selecting three different detection modes, timer functions, and light on or dark on.  Also incorporated into the housing is a locking lever to secure the fiber cable to the sensor.  Plus, the unique press-and-click feature of the SU18's housing design allows for DIN rail mounting and removal without tools.

• Selectable 40 ms on delay or off delay
• Weak signal output with self diagnostic function (potentiometer models only)
• Remote teach (pushbutton models only)

• Cross-talk protection (in high-resolution mode)

SU19 Series

The high-performance SU19 series has a built-in illuminated 4-digit display and is available in either main or expansion units for gang mounting up to 18 amplifiers.  Unlike fiber amplifiers with dual 4-digit displays, the SU19's single percentage display is easy to interpret and just as accurate.  It also functions as the menu display for adjusting several of the SU19's advanced features.  And with gang mounting, wiring can be reduced by 70% because expansion units have just a single wire to connect.  Like the SU18 series, the SU19 has a locking lever for securing the fiber cables to the sensor and the same press-and-click DIN rail mounting.
