Displaying industry-specific text and graphics with real-time sequencing, the SmartSwitch™ simplifies and improves complex, multi-decision operations. NKK Switches' SmartSwitch™ can be programmed to display an infinite variety of text, graphics, or moving images. Possible applications include industrial control panels, medical equipment, communication systems, audio-video broadcast workstations and simulation equipment.

Development Kits
SmartSwitch™ Dev Kits are extremely flexible and efficient

Design flexibility has never been more simple. NKK’s SmartSwitch™ product line allows you to design what you want, any way you want it. Our series of LCD programmable switches and displays are developed for use with a wide variety of applications.

DEVELOPMENT KITS

The development kits offer engineers a renewed flexibility, because the modules have sockets for the LCD pushbuttons and displays that allow them to be interchanged for optimal design testing. Engineers can choose between a variety of LED backlighting color, RGB, intensity and LCD display combinations with the SmartSwitch™ series.

Two Development Kits available:

IS-Dev Kit-1: One SmartSwitch™ programmable LCD display module and two PCB mounted tact switches, with flash memory, power and programming connections. (see below table)

IS-Dev Kit-2: Two SmartSwitch™ LCD programmable pushbutton switches on a PC board with flash memory, power and programming connections. (see below table)

DEMONSTRATION KITS

NKK has developed a line of products to assist in demonstrating the SmartSwitch™ product series. These demonstration kits (IS-Dem Kit) can be easily used in the customer’s final design and are programmed by means of our on-line software or through our stand-alone software provided on CD.

The IS-Dem kits are used to display bitmaps, up to 64, that have been created via the user’s PC. These kits are supplied with an R/G LCD module software, USB cable and programming instructions. Once downloaded, the bitmaps can be displayed and advanced by means of the address control lines without the need of a PC.
These kits can be incorporated into the user’s end product, as the PCB has been designed with allowance for standoffs.
The LCD module can be interchanged to meet the user’s specific color application.
