The Amphenol engineering team adopted RADSOK® contact technology to produce a higher performance pin and socket set. The inclusion of RADSOK® technology instantly boosts the ampacity by 50% or more compared to the mil-spec contacts. Another benefit is the greatly reduced force needed to mate and unmate the "Amphe-Power" RADSOK® contacts. The cycle durability of the RADSOK® also offers improvement on the mil-spec contact design. Amphenol currently offers the 5015-style connectors (AC and GT) with size 8, size 4, and size 0 contacts available with RADSOK® contact technology. Fit, form and function of the RADSOK® contacts in the Ampeh-Power product line are identical to the traditional mil-spec Amphenol contacts. In fact, existing serviceable connectors can be upgraded to RADSOK® contacts or replaced with the appropriate Amphe-Power connector since the pin side of the contact remains unchanged.

Amphenol introduces the new Composite GT Series of connectors, with full worldwide approval from a major server manufacturer, for use as the environmental server power connector. Featuring a high-performance composite plug shell, coupling nut, receptacle, and hardware, this GT meets all of the specifications for high power process control and server applications. Additional features include the RADSOK® High Amperage Socket Contact Technology, enabling increased current ratings to 120A on individual contacts.

AMPHE-PD OFFERS HIGH CURRENT INTERCONNECT IN A LOW, NON-ENVIRONMENTAL PACKAGE

The Amphe-PD™ connectors generate more processing power with less heat than a similar-sized connector. The series produces greater amperage without wasting valuable space, offering a compact solution for datacom applications, which require small, yet powerful connectors. The Amphe-PD™ solution is UL listed at 69A and CSA listed at 55A . Amphe-PD™ features a single position RADSOK® with molded socket shell or a dual-position TUV "touch-proof" with a V0 rating. In addition, the RADSOK in the Amphe-PD™ supports 50A to 70A continuous duty. Amphenol's Amphe-PD™ series was developed with the ability to connect to wires, busbars, as well as circuit boards. This flexibility allows the Amphe-PD™ to be used in a wide variety of applications. Several different plastic receptacle-mounting variations are also available.

AMPHENOL PLASTICSURLOK™ COMPRESSION LUG

The PlasticSurLok™ is a field installable, high reliability replacement compression lug. These will use the industry standard colour code in regard to which AWG size should be used with each lug. Another feature is that any industry standard U-indent / Clamshell or 4-indenter crimp tool may be used to perform the crimp termination on the wire. This eliminates the need to purchase special crimp tool to utilize the PlasticSurlok™. Two locking mechanisms on the PlasticSurlok™ insure a secure connection. The head of the pin locks into place once mated to the socket. The head is designed to snap into place and not come loose. The secondary locking mechanism is in the plastic housing. The head snaps into the inside if the plastic cap and provides a even more secure connection. This secure connection will ensure that voltage and amperage levels are maintained throughout the output of an application.
