DESCRIPTION

The 9502-CHR-100 is an EIA-RS-232/423 low-capacitance computer communication cable designed for extended-distance data transmission and low-voltage signal applications. It features 24 AWG stranded (7x32) tinned copper conductors with Datalene® polyethylene foam insulation (0.015 in nominal wall thickness), overall Beldfoil® aluminum/polyester tape shield (100% coverage) plus tinned copper braid shield (65% coverage), and a drain wire for enhanced EMI rejection. The cable has a nominal capacitance of 12 pF/ft conductor-to-conductor and 22 pF/ft conductor-to-shield, with a velocity of propagation of 78%, supporting a maximum recommended current of 2.2 A per conductor at 25°C and rated for 30 V RMS (UL AWM Style 2919) or 300 V RMS (CM rating). The cable operates reliably over a temperature range of -30°C to +80°C and meets UL 1685 flammability requirements and IEC 60332-1-2 standards. It is ideal for RS-232 extended-distance applications, RS-423 systems, computer communications, low-voltage analog signals (4-20 mA, 0-10 V), low-voltage digital control (24 V), line-level audio, and panel wiring.
