DESCRIPTION
The CFM40S050 is a 40 W open-frame AC-DC power supply module designed for industrial and embedded applications requiring a regulated 5 V DC output. It features a universal input range of 90–264 Vac with an input frequency range of 47–63 Hz, delivering up to 6 A continuous output current at 5 V with ±1% voltage accuracy and 76% typical efficiency at 230 Vac full load. The module incorporates comprehensive protection including continuous short-circuit protection (hiccup mode auto-recovery), over-voltage protection using TVS clamping to 6.8 Vdc, and over-current protection, with a maximum inrush current of 55 A at 240 Vac cold start. Operating across -20°C to +70°C ambient temperature with a 2000 m altitude rating, the CFM40S050 meets Class I safety approvals per IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 and EMC standards EN 55032 Class B and CISPR/FCC Class B, making it suitable for telecommunications, industrial control, and consumer electronics applications.
