DESCRIPTION

1-745493-5 is an HDE-20 metal-shell IDC (insulation displacement contact) receptacle connector designed for reliable cable termination in industrial and commercial applications. The connector features a shell size 2 configuration with 15 contact positions, a steel shell with tin plating, and a 94V-0 rated thermoplastic insert in black. The contacts are phosphor bronze with duplex plating (gold flash on mating end, tin on termination end, with nickel underplating), accepting a maximum wire insulation thickness of 0.015 inches and maximum wire insulation diameter of 0.060 inches. The connector is preloaded with insulation displacement contacts and is designed for terminating solid or stranded wire (7 strand maximum), with individual conductor strands larger than 0.005 inch diameter. This product is ideal for applications requiring secure, tool-free wire termination in industrial machinery, medical instrumentation, computers, and telecommunications equipment.
