DESCRIPTION
The MS3102R16-11P is a box mounting receptacle connector conforming to MIL-DTL-5015 Type R specifications, designed for lightweight environmental-resistant applications. This connector features a shell size 16 with capacity for 11 contacts (size 12), utilizing a low-profile assembly with the axial compression nut and grommet assembly positioned flush with the rear of the insert. The neoprene grommet with low coefficient of friction enables easier wire bundle threading and faster assembly, while molded webs in each wire hole provide a moisture barrier around individual wires. The shell is fabricated from high-grade aluminum alloy with cadmium plating and olive drab chromate after-treatment for corrosion resistance, and contacts are machined from copper alloy for maximum corrosion resistance and current-carrying capacity. MS-R connectors satisfy all performance requirements of MIL-DTL-5015 and are recommended for new design applications requiring enhanced reliability in compact, lightweight configurations.
