DESCRIPTION
The 3421-6600 is a 20-position wiremount socket connector from 3M's 3000 Series, designed for .100" x .100" spacing with .050" pitch cable termination. It features an industry-standard IDC (Insulation Displacement Contact) interface with positive locking metal "J" clips made of stainless steel for high cover retention and reliable mating with 3M headers, plugs, and pin strips. The socket body is constructed from glass-filled polyester (PBT) with UL 94V-0 flammability rating, copper alloy contacts with gold-plated wiping areas (30 µ" [0.76 µm]), and accepts both 26 and 28 AWG solid and stranded wire. It supports current ratings up to 4.75 A for a single line (26 AWG) and withstands 1000 V RMS at sea level with an insulation resistance greater than 1 × 108 O at 500 V, operating reliably across -55°C to +105°C. The connector is available with optional plastic or metal strain relief, military polarization with dual slots or centerbump options, and transfer adhesive for precision cable alignment, making it ideal for telecommunications, industrial control, and military applications requiring robust, high-yield terminations.
