DESCRIPTION

The 2420-33-G is a 5-pin gas discharge tube (GDT) overvoltage protection module that utilizes Bourns' proprietary high-efficiency GDT with a patented Switch-Grade Fail-Short mechanism to provide robust surge and thermal overload protection. This device features a DC breakdown voltage of 280–420 V, low capacitance of less than 2.5 pF (tip or ring to ground at 1 MHz), and impulse breakdown ratings of 625 V at 100 V/µs and 875 V at 1000 V/µs, making it ideal for high-speed networks in high-exposure environments. The module is UL listed per UL 497, meets Telcordia GR 974 and GR 1361 standards, and operates reliably across a temperature range of -55°C to +85°C with insulation resistance exceeding 1 GO. The 2420-33-G is commonly used for overvoltage protection of copper pair circuits in broadband voice and data applications including ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL, VDSL2, and high-speed Ethernet, offering an economical and low-capacitance solution for telecommunications infrastructure.
