DESCRIPTION

The 3048L-4-502 is a compact linear motion potentiometer designed for precise position sensing and control applications. It features a 0.4 inch (10.16 mm) electrical travel range with a standard resistance of 5,000 ohms (±20%), infinite resolution, and independent linearity of ±5%. The device operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to +125°C with a temperature coefficient of 1000 PPM/°C, and delivers a power rating of 0.25 watts at 70°C. Key performance characteristics include negligible backlash, a shaft actuating force of 4 oz maximum at 70°F, an insulation resistance of 50 megohms at 500 VDC, and a rated life of 500,000 cycles with shock and vibration ratings of 50 G for 7 msec and 20 G (10-2 kHz) respectively. The potentiometer is RoHS compliant, lightweight, and features flexible wire leads with a #2-56 UNC-2A threaded shaft, making it ideal for instrumentation, automation, and control systems requiring reliable linear displacement measurement.
