DESCRIPTION

The SMBJ13CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. It features a working peak reverse voltage of 13 V, a breakdown voltage range of 15.3 V to 17.2 V, and a maximum reverse voltage of 10 V, with fast response times of less than 5.0 picoseconds. The device is housed in a compact DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package and offers a maximum peak current of 28.0 A and maximum clamping current of 12.1 A. The SMBJ13CA is ideal for protecting sensitive circuits against transient overvoltage events in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 Surge standards, providing reliable protection with minimal board space requirements.
