DESCRIPTION

SMBJ22A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in compact surface-mount applications. This device features a working peak reverse voltage (VRWM) of 22V with a breakdown voltage range of 24.4V to 26.9V, providing reliable overvoltage clamping at 35.5V. The SMBJ22A is housed in a DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount package and offers fast response times of less than 1.0 picosecond, making it ideal for protecting sensitive electronic circuits from transient voltage spikes. With a maximum peak current rating of 16.5A and maximum clamping current of 46.2A, this device is well-suited for portable communications, computing, and video equipment requiring IEC 61000-4-2 ESD (Level 4), IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 Surge protection compliance.
