DESCRIPTION

TISP4070H3BJR-S is a bidirectional thyristor overvoltage protector designed to safeguard central office, access, and customer premise equipment against overvoltages on telecom lines. The device features a repetitive peak off-state voltage (VDRM) of 58 V and a breakover voltage (VBO) of 70 V, with a low on-state voltage of 3 V at 5 A. It provides high current capability with a non-repetitive peak on-state pulse current (ITSP) of 500 A for 2/10 µs waveshape and 200 A for ITU-T K.20/21 rating, allowing minimal series resistance in protection circuits. The device is housed in a surface-mount SMBJ (DO-214AA) package with J-bend leads and is rated for international surge standards including GR-1089-CORE, FCC Part 68, and ITU-T K.20/21. Common applications include 2-point protection between Ring and Tip wires for telephones and modems, with combinations of devices enabling multi-point protection schemes.
