DESCRIPTION

The 516-280-400 is a Series 516 hermaphroditic connector featuring 80 total contacts with wire hole termination (.110 x .024 inches) and actuating screw with polarizing hardware assembly. The connector utilizes phosphor bronze alloy CA-510 contacts with gold over nickel plating, housed in a thermoplastic polyester or polycarbonate insulator body. It supports a current rating of 8.5 amperes per contact with a maximum contact resistance of 10 milliohms and dielectric withstanding voltage of 2000 V AC rms at sea level. The connector operates reliably across a temperature range of -65°C to +125°C with insertion and withdrawal force of 2 to 16 ounces per contact position. This versatile connector is ideal for applications requiring reliable hermaphroditic mating with simplified assembly and disassembly, including cable-to-cable, cable-to-board, and panel-mounted configurations.
