DESCRIPTION
The 61RS100 is a sealed, high-resolution optical encoder from Grayhill's Series 61R featuring a 5-pin polarized connection and 100 cycles per revolution. It utilizes quadrature output code with integrated Schmitt Trigger and 10K ohms pull-up resistor for clean digital signals immune to loading problems. The encoder operates at 5.0 ±0.25 Vdc with a maximum supply current of 30 mA and delivers open-collector outputs with a maximum sink current of 16 mA. Mechanically, it is rated for 10 million revolutions of continuous operation with an operating torque of 1.5 in-oz maximum for unsealed versions, and features an IP67 shaft seal for sealed models. The device operates reliably across -40°C to 85°C and is commonly used in industrial automation, motion control systems, and precision positioning applications where sealed, high-resolution incremental feedback is required.
