DESCRIPTION
The 62S22-M5-060CH is a compact optical encoder from Grayhill's Series 62S line, designed for rotational position sensing with minimal behind-panel space requirements. It features a 1/2" package size with standard quadrature 2-bit output code, where channel A leads channel B by 90° electrically during clockwise rotation. The encoder operates at 5.00 ±0.25 Vdc with a maximum supply current of 25 mA and provides open-collector phototransistor outputs requiring external pull-up resistors (2.2 kO). It is rated for 1 million rotational cycles under low and medium torque conditions, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. This encoder is well-suited for global positioning systems, driver information systems, and medical equipment applications where reliable rotational feedback is essential.
