DESCRIPTION
The 86-396 is a CAT5e RJ-45 8-position 8-contact modular plug designed for termination to twisted pair cables in Ethernet and data applications. It features 50 µm gold-plated contacts to minimize wear, 3-prong contacts for secure wire connection, and dual primary and secondary strain reliefs to secure the cable in place. The plug is non-keyed (standard) for use with industry-standard crimpers, has a non-feed-thru design with closed end face, and is rated for 100 MHz application compatibility. It accommodates most cables with 24 AWG solid or stranded conductors and is compatible with many 23 AWG solid conductors (CAT6 cables). This connector is ideal for structured cabling installations, network infrastructure, and telecommunications applications where reliable, durable connections are required.
