DESCRIPTION

140-0000-997 is a semi-rigid cable clamp insert designed for use with .047" OD semi-rigid cable (MIL-C-17/151) in SMP connector assembly applications. These clamp inserts are precision-engineered components that secure the cable during soldering operations, ensuring proper alignment and contact location flush to .004" (0.10 mm) recessed from the reference plane. The inserts are used in conjunction with a soldering vise (140-0000-962) and stop screw (140-0000-981) to maintain cable positioning during assembly of both straight and right-angle female solder-style SMP connectors. These components are essential for achieving reliable, high-density interconnect systems that operate up to 40 GHz and meet military specifications including MIL-PRF-39012 environmental and durability requirements.
