DESCRIPTION

The Q5025LX is a 25 A Alternistor (high commutation) Triac designed for AC switching and phase control applications including motor speed control, temperature modulation, lighting control, and static switching relays. This device operates in Quadrants I, II, and III with a rated RMS on-state current of 25 A at a case temperature of 65 °C, a blocking voltage (V_DRM/V_RRM) of 1000 V, and a gate trigger current (I_GT) of 50 to 80 mA. The Alternistor type provides superior dv/dt capability (up to 400–600 V/µs depending on voltage rating) and requires no snubber circuit, making it ideal for extremely inductive loads and applications demanding high commutation performance. It features glass-passivated junctions, surge capability up to 250 A, and is RoHS compliant with UL agency approval. The device is housed in a TO-263 (D²-Pak) surface-mount package and operates over a junction temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C, making it suitable for industrial power tools, exercise equipment, white goods, and commercial appliances.
