DESCRIPTION

The TC7660SEPA is a super charge pump DC-to-DC voltage converter designed to generate a negative output voltage from a positive input. It operates over a wide input voltage range of +1.5V to +12V and requires only two external capacitors, eliminating the need for inductors and their associated cost, size, and EMI. The device features a nominal on-board oscillator frequency of 10 kHz, which can be boosted to 45 kHz, and exhibits high power efficiency of 98% (typical). This specific model operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is supplied in an 8-pin PDIP package. It is ideal for applications such as generating negative supplies for RS-232 interfaces, data acquisition systems, and various instrumentation.
