The 878B is a 40,000-count dual-display handheld LCR meter designed for rapid and precise measurement of inductance, capacitance, and resistance in passive components. It features a primary display with 40,000 counts resolution and a secondary display with 10,000 counts resolution, enabling simultaneous viewing of multiple measurements. The meter measures L, C, R parameters with automatic calculation of secondary parameters D and Q, achieving 0.5% basic accuracy across selectable test frequencies of 120 Hz and 1 kHz. Fast auto-ranging eliminates the need for manual range selection, while additional functions include data hold, Min/Max/Average recording, tolerance sorting (1%, 5%, 10%), and relative mode for enhanced measurement flexibility. The 878B connects to a PC via mini USB interface for continuous data transfer using provided datalogging software or SCPI commands, making it ideal for passive component troubleshooting, electronic assembly, and quality control applications.
