DESCRIPTION

ECW1J-C28-AC0024L is a digital contacting incremental encoder manufactured by Bourns that provides 2-bit quadrature output with Channel A leading Channel B by 90° electrically during clockwise rotation. The encoder features 24 cycles per revolution with 0 detents and is rated for 200,000 revolutions of operational life. It has a closed circuit resistance of 5 ohms maximum, open circuit resistance of 100 kilohms minimum, and a contact rating of 10 milliamps at 10 VDC or 0.1 watt maximum. The device exhibits contact bounce of 5 milliseconds maximum at 15 RPM and maintains insulation resistance of 1,000 megohms minimum at 500 VDC. With dielectric withstanding voltage of 1,000 VAC minimum and continuous electrical travel, this encoder is ideal for precision rotational position sensing and control applications in industrial equipment, automation systems, and instrumentation where reliable quadrature feedback is required.
