DESCRIPTION

The SMAJ13A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. It features a breakdown voltage range of 14.4 to 15.9 volts with a working voltage of 14 volts, housed in a compact DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package. The device delivers 400 watts peak pulse power dissipation at 1 ms pulse width and supports peak forward surge current of 40 amps (8.3 ms single half sine wave), with typical response times under 1.0 picoseconds. Operating across a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C, the SMAJ13A is ideal for IEC 61000-4-2 ESD (Level 4), IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 surge protection applications, offering reliable transient suppression in demanding electronic systems.
