DESCRIPTION

SMAJ40A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. It features a working peak reverse voltage of 40 V, breakdown voltage range of 44.9 to 50.1 V, and a peak pulse power dissipation of 400 watts at 1 ms pulse width. The device is housed in a compact DO-214AC (SMA) surface mount package with a cathode band indicating unidirectional operation, and operates reliably across a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. With fast response times and compliance with IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 Surge standards, the SMAJ40A is ideal for protecting sensitive circuits from transient voltage events in demanding applications.
