DESCRIPTION

The SMCJ6.5A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. It features a compact SMC (DO-214AB) surface-mount package with a working peak reverse voltage of 6.5 V and a breakdown voltage of 7.22 V. The device delivers peak pulse power dissipation of 1500 watts at a 1 ms pulse width, with a peak forward surge current rating of 200 amps (8.3 ms single half-sine wave per JEDEC method) and steady-state power dissipation of 5.0 watts at 75°C. Operating temperature range spans -55°C to +150°C, with typical response times less than 1.0 ns. This device is RoHS compliant, lead-free, and ideal for protecting sensitive circuits from transient voltage spikes in compact electronic applications.
