THT-53-486-3 is a Brady B-486 thermal transfer printable metallized polyester label stock designed for rating and serial plates, barcodes, and nameplate-quality marking applications. The material features a matte, light gray appearance with a total thickness of 0.0053 inch (0.135 mm) and permanent rubber-based adhesive that provides excellent adhesion across multiple surfaces, including stainless steel (160 N/100 mm at 24-hour dwell), painted enamel (156 N/100 mm), and polypropylene (119 N/100 mm). The label stock demonstrates exceptional durability, withstanding long-term service temperatures from -40°F to 248°F (-40°C to 120°C), high humidity (95% R.H.), UV light exposure, salt fog conditions, and abrasion (print remains legible after 100 Taber cycles), while maintaining chemical resistance to solvents such as methyl ethyl ketone and trichloroethane. This product is ideal for industrial environments requiring durable, high-adhesion labels on textured metals, powder-coated surfaces, and low surface energy plastics, with UL and CSA regulatory approvals when used with Brady R4300 or R6200 thermal transfer ribbons.
