DESCRIPTION
The 62A11-01-040C is an optical rotary encoder with an integral pushbutton switch designed for precision rotational input applications. This 1/2" package encoder operates at 5.0 Vdc and features 32 detent positions (11.25° angle of throw) with quadrature 2-bit coded output compatible with CMOS, TTL, and HCMOS logic. The device incorporates an optically coupled design rated for more than one million cycles, with a phototransistor and gallium aluminum arsenide infrared emitter for reliable operation. The pushbutton switch provides 3 million actuations minimum with less than 4 mS contact bounce at make and less than 10 mS at break, and an actuation force of 1000 ±300 grams. The encoder is supplied with a 4.0-inch stripped cable (28 AWG, 0.050" centers) terminated with Amp connector P/N 215083-6, along with mounting hardware including a nickel-plated brass nut and zinc-plated spring steel lockwasher. Common applications include global positioning systems, driver information systems, and medical equipment requiring reliable rotational input control.
