DESCRIPTION

The 62AG11-L0-020C is an optical rotary encoder from Grayhill's Series 62AG designed for precision position sensing and rotation detection. It features 2-bit gray code output with quadrature coding, 20 detent positions (18° code change per position), and operates at 5.0±0.25 Vdc (AG Style) with a maximum supply current of 30 mA. The encoder delivers open collector phototransistor outputs with logic high no less than 3.0 Vdc and logic low no greater than 1.0 Vdc, with optical rise and fall times of 30 ms maximum. It is rated for over 1 million rotational cycles with an average rotational torque of 2.0±1.4 in-oz initially (low torque option), and operates reliably across -40°C to 85°C. The 62AG11-L0-020C features a 2.0 inch ribbon cable with connector termination and is commonly used in automotive audio and navigation systems, medical patient monitoring, test and measurement equipment, and consumer audio/video applications where cost-effective, durable position sensing is required.
