DESCRIPTION

M3786/4-5071 is a multi-deck rotary switch manufactured by Grayhill, designed for demanding military and industrial applications requiring reliable switching performance. The switch features a 1-inch diameter with a 1-amp rated capacity and is available in Series 42, 43, 44, and 54 configurations, offering many circuitry options and MIL-qualified versions per MIL-S-3786/04. Key technical characteristics include rugged construction with stainless steel shaft and components, silver-alloy contacts, and electrical ratings of 1 amp at 115 Vac resistive for 30° or 36° throw angles, with higher ratings available for larger throw angles. The switch features a 3/8-32 UNEF-2A thread mounting, integral assembly nut, and bushing keyway dimensions of 0.066 ± 0.002 inches wide by 0.036 ± 0.003 inches deep. Common applications include military equipment, aerospace systems, and industrial control panels where long operational life, low contact resistance (50 milliohms maximum), and high insulation resistance (1,000 megohms minimum) are essential.
