DESCRIPTION
The 1829 is a 28 VDC flasher-type incandescent lamp designed to provide automatic blinking illumination through an integrated bi-metal strip mechanism. The lamp operates at 28.0 volts with a current draw of 0.070 amperes and produces 1.00 MSCP (mean spherical candlepower) and 12.57 lumens of light output. The bi-metal strip, attached to the filament mount, bends away from the lead wire when heated by the filament, breaking the circuit and extinguishing the lamp; as it cools, it returns to its original position and re-ignites the lamp, creating a flashing effect at approximately 50–150 flashes per minute. The lamp has an average rated life of 1,000 hours and is classified as type C-2F. Flash rate may vary with ambient temperature and input voltage changes. These flasher lamps are commonly used in aircraft warning lights, automotive turn signals, and other applications requiring automatic blinking indicators without external control circuitry.
