DESCRIPTION

The 0603L050YR is a PolySwitch® resettable PPTC (Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient) device designed for surface-mount overcurrent protection in compact applications. It features a hold current of 0.50 A and a trip current of 1.00 A, with a maximum voltage rating of 6 Vdc and maximum fault current rating of 40 A. The device exhibits low resistance (0.100 O minimum to 0.680 O maximum) and typical power dissipation of 0.5 W in the tripped state. Operating across a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C with a maximum device surface temperature of 125°C in the tripped state, it provides fast response to fault currents while maintaining a compact, low-profile form factor compatible with high-temperature soldering processes. This device is ideal for protecting USB peripherals, disk drives, CD-ROMs, and other consumer electronics requiring space-efficient, resettable overcurrent protection.
