DESCRIPTION

The MCP2221AT-I/ST is a USB 2.0 to I2C/UART protocol converter designed to add USB connectivity to applications with I2C and/or UART interfaces. It supports full-speed USB (12 Mb/s) and enumerates as a composite device, utilizing a Communication Device Class (CDC) for the UART and a Human Interface Device (HID) for I2C communication and configuration. The device features a UART that supports baud rates up to 460800, an I2C master with a clock rate up to 400 kHz, and four configurable GPIO pins which can also function as ADC inputs or a DAC output. Operating over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and housed in a 14-lead TSSOP package, this converter is ideal for embedded systems, development tools, and PC peripherals.
