DESCRIPTION
The MCP4161-502E/MS is an 8-bit, single-channel digital potentiometer with a nominal end-to-end resistance of 5 kΩ and non-volatile EEPROM memory. It provides 257 steps of resolution and is controlled via a 10 MHz SPI-compatible serial interface. Key features include the automatic recall of saved wiper settings upon power-up and WiperLock™ technology to secure calibration data. The device operates on a wide supply voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V. Its low ratiometric temperature coefficient and extended operating temperature range make it ideal for applications requiring precision and reliability, such as sensor trimming, set-point calibration, and adjustable gain amplifiers.
