DESCRIPTION
The TC642VOA713 is a switch-mode fan speed controller that uses pulse width modulation (PWM) to provide temperature-proportional speed control for brushless DC fans. It operates over a supply range of 3.0V to 5.5V and is specified for an operating temperature range of 0°C to +85°C. The device features proprietary FanSense™ technology, which monitors the fan for stalled or open conditions and asserts a FAULT output. A control voltage of 1.25V to 2.65V on the VIN input provides a 0% to 100% PWM duty cycle, while a shutdown mode reduces supply current to 25 µA for power-sensitive systems. Housed in an 8-lead SOIC package, this controller is ideal for applications like personal computers, power supplies, and telecom equipment where acoustic control and system reliability are important.
