DESCRIPTION

The EX-23-PN is an ultra-compact thru-beam photoelectric sensor featuring PNP open-collector transistor output with switchable Light-ON or Dark-ON operation modes. This side-sensing type sensor delivers a 2 m (6.562 ft) sensing range and incorporates a bright 2-color indicator (orange and green LED) for operational status monitoring. The sensor features IP67 waterproof construction with a stainless steel mounting bracket, enabling reliable operation in harsh environments including washdown applications. It includes a sensitivity adjuster for fine-tuning detection performance and conforms to EMC Directive and UL Recognition standards. The miniaturized design utilizes a single-chip optical IC integrating the beam-receiving photodiode and A/D conversion circuit, delivering performance and reliability comparable to larger conventional sensors while maintaining mountability with standard M3 screws. Common applications include chip component detection, wafer protrusion checking, and object sensing from openings in industrial automation and quality control systems.
