DESCRIPTION

HSC2506R8J is a 250-watt aluminium housed power resistor from the TE Connectivity HS Series, engineered for high-power dissipation in demanding industrial applications. The resistor delivers 250 watts dissipation at 25°C when mounted on a standard heatsink, with a maximum working voltage of 2200 V (DC or AC rms) and dielectric strength of 5600 V (AC peak). It features a resistance value of 6.8 ohms with 5% tolerance, low inductance design, and excellent long-term stability with 3% maximum resistance change over 1000 hours. The unit is constructed with quality materials for optimum reliability and includes a standard heatsink with 476,500 mm² area and 3 mm thickness, mounted with 6 holes for secure installation. Common applications include braking resistors, balancing resistors, capacitor charging/discharging circuits, crowbar protection, and general electrical machinery use in power supplies and power generation systems.
