DESCRIPTION
The MIC4576-5.0WU-TR is a BiCMOS step-down (buck) switch-mode voltage regulator designed for ease of use. It operates over a wide input voltage range of 4V to 36V, providing a fixed 5.0V output capable of driving a 3A load with excellent line and load regulation. This regulator features a fixed 200 kHz operating frequency, which allows for smaller external components, and achieves a typical efficiency of 77% at a 3A load. Integrated protection features include cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown to ensure reliability under fault conditions. It is well-suited for applications such as simple high-efficiency buck regulators, preregulators for linear regulators, and on-card switching regulators.
