DESCRIPTION

1-601967-5 is a turret component designed for use with the AMP hand tool (Part No. 601967-1) to crimp high-current power contacts onto wire. This turret is specifically configured for socket contact assembly in the High Current Size 16 contact system, which features a 23 amp capability with a 30° T-Rise in free-air testing. The socket contact body is constructed from copper alloy with a silver finish, while the Louvertac band is beryllium copper with gold plating, and the retention spring is stainless steel. The turret accommodates wire sizes from 18-16 AWG (0.8-1.4 mm²) and 14 AWG (2 mm²), making it suitable for retrofitting into existing AMP connector housings such as CPC (Circular Plastic Connector), CMC (Circular Metal Connector), and other series.
