DESCRIPTION

The 1-794954-8 is an 18-position receptacle housing designed for AMP Soft Shell Pin and Socket Connectors in a wire-to-wire configuration. The housing is constructed from UL 94V-0 rated 6/6 nylon material, providing excellent flame resistance and mechanical durability. It features a 3.96 mm centerline spacing and is compatible with tab socket contacts for reliable electrical connections. The receptacle housing accommodates 18 circuits and is part of a comprehensive connector family that includes panel mount plugs, free-hanging plugs, and various contact options. This connector is widely used in industrial control systems, telecommunications equipment, and automotive applications where compact, high-density interconnections are required with superior environmental protection.
