DESCRIPTION

The 2180736-1 is a 1x4 external Mini-SAS HD receptacle assembly with lightpipe, designed for high-speed SAS applications in storage, servers, and data center environments. This preassembled, one-piece interconnect supports SAS-2.1 at 6 Gb/s and SAS-3 at 12 Gb/s protocols, compliant with the SFF-8644 specification. The assembly features a broadband design optimized for 16x lane configurations, with a voltage rating of 120 volts AC and mechanical specifications including a maximum plug insertion force of 100N, minimum latch retention of 133.5N, and durability rated for 250 mating cycles. The receptacle housing is constructed from LCP (liquid crystal polymer), with nickel silver shield assembly, copper alloy contacts and EMI spring, and brass threaded nut, ensuring robust performance and EMI protection. The integrated lightpipe option provides visual indication of connection status, making it ideal for high-density PCB layouts where space savings of 30–50% compared to standard SAS connectors are critical, particularly in rack-mount servers, HBAs, RAID systems, and high-performance computing applications.
