DESCRIPTION

The 2-5499206-8 is a universal header assembly connector featuring AMP-latch technology designed for secure and repeatable mating in electronic applications. This 40-position connector is constructed with glass-filled nylon or polyester housing (UL 94V-0 rated) and phosphor bronze or brass posts to ensure durability and reliable electrical contact. The posts are finished with gold flash over palladium-nickel plate (0.76 µm minimum on localized plate area), tin plate on solder-tail (2.54 µm minimum), and nickel underplate (1.27 µm minimum) for enhanced corrosion resistance and solderability. Key dimensional specifications include a post diameter of 0.64 ± 0.05 mm, solder tail length of 2.79 ± 0.25 mm, and overall housing length of 27.30 ± 0.51 mm. The connector is commonly used in instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and industrial control applications where secure latching and reliable signal integrity are essential.
