DESCRIPTION

5748472-1 is an HDP-22 crimp snap-in contact connector plug assembly designed for D-subminiature applications requiring shielding and cable strain relief. This connector features 78 contact positions (Shell Size 5) and accommodates recommended cable outer diameters ranging from 0.338 to 0.490 inches, with a maximum inner cable bundle diameter of 0.450 inches after jacket and braid removal. The connector shell is constructed of steel with tin plating, the insert is 94V-0 rated thermoplastic in black, and the shield is steel with tin plating; jackscrews are zinc alloy. The assembly includes a PVC black enclosure and is supplied unassembled and bulk-packaged in quantities of 100 pieces. This connector is ideal for industrial machinery, medical instrumentation, computers, storage systems, and on-machine industrial communications where reliable shielded connections and compact form factors are essential.
