DESCRIPTION
66424-7 is a Type III crimp snap-in socket contact designed for use in M Series pin and socket connectors. This size 16 contact features a gold over nickel plating finish and is compatible with 30-26 AWG (0.05-0.15 mm²) wire sizes with an insulation diameter range of 1.02-1.52 mm [0.040-0.060 inches]. The contact body is made of copper alloy with a stainless steel spring, providing superior normal force and reliable retention in the housing. With a current rating of 13 amperes at 30°C temperature rise, this contact is suitable for signal applications in cable-to-panel configurations. The M Series connectors are intermateable with connectors made to MIL-C-28748 requirements, making them ideal for military, aerospace, and industrial applications requiring reliable electrical connections.
