DESCRIPTION

749204-2 is a backshell kit component for the AMPLIMITE .050 Series subminiature D connectors, specifically designed for 68-position connectors with straight exit and latches. This kit is part of TE Connectivity's Series III connector line and is used to complete cable assemblies for high-speed data applications including SCSI-2, IPI-2, and HIPPI interfaces. The backshell kit includes upper and lower backshells with male or female jackscrews and strain relief staples, designed to work with round jacketed cable assemblies. The connector system operates with 106 ohm impedance cable and supports standard termination covers with wire sizes of 28 AWG or 30 AWG solid or 7-strand wire with 0.029–0.036 inch insulation diameter. This backshell assembly is essential for providing mechanical strain relief, shielding, and secure mating in demanding industrial and computing environments where reliable high-speed signal transmission is required.
