DESCRIPTION

The 8-640917-1 is an Ultra-Pod fully insulated FASTON receptacle designed for the 205 series connector system, accommodating 26-24 AWG wire sizes with a wire insulation diameter maximum of 0.208 inches (6.10 mm). This receptacle features a unique integral plastic carrier that enables one-step automatic application of insulated quick connects, with both crimping and insulation occurring in a single press stroke. The terminal is constructed from brass material with a 0.016 inch (0.41 mm) stock thickness and 0.020 inch (0.50 mm) tab thickness, rated at +105°C and compliant with UL 1950 and IEC standards for secondary insulation fixing. The design provides reduced insertion force and is terminated by automatic or semi-automatic equipment, eliminating secondary insulation operations and reducing labor costs compared to heat shrink or chemically expanded tubing methods.
