DESCRIPTION

1-1586861-8 is an 18-position VAL-U-LOK Glow Wire compatible plug connector designed for household appliances requiring compliance with IEC 60335-1 safety standards. The connector features a dual-row configuration and is rated for 600 VAC with a maximum current of 9 amps in 2-position applications, providing a dielectric withstanding voltage of 1500 VAC minimum and insulation resistance of 1000 megoohms minimum. Mechanical specifications include a connector mating force of 6.90 N maximum per circuit, unmating force of 0.49 N minimum per circuit, and contact retention of 21.71 N minimum per contact, with a durability rating of 30 mating and unmatting cycles. The housing is constructed from Glow Wire compatible material, while contacts are available in brass or phosphor bronze with tin plating (lead-free) or gold plating, and the connector operates reliably across a temperature range of -40°C to +105°C. This connector is ideal for applications in air conditioning units, dishwashers, dryers, ovens, refrigerators, and washing machines sold into the European market.
