DESCRIPTION

1-2178711-4 is a female board-to-board connector featuring top entry configuration and surface-mount (SMD) technology, part of TE Connectivity's 0.050 inch centerline Micro-Match Value-line connector family. The connector provides highly reliable, gas-tight, and corrosion-free connections with insulation displacement contacts, supporting multiple position configurations (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 positions). It is designed for automatic pick-and-place assembly with tape and reel packaging options, reducing assembly time and cost. The connector accepts standard ribbon cable and is suitable for industrial, consumer, and datacom applications including home automation, lighting, climate control, CCTV systems, and set-top boxes, where broad temperature range and vibration resistance are less critical than cost-effectiveness.
