DESCRIPTION

1-2199298-5 is an 18-position DIP socket with dual leaf contacts designed for reliable IC-to-PCB connections. The socket features dual leaf contacts that enlarge the contact area and ensure low and constant contact resistance, combined with a true closed bottom design that prevents solder and flux wicking. It utilizes 30% glass-filled PBT thermoplastic insulation (black), phosphorous bronze contacts with tin plating, and supports through-hole soldering with a 7.62 mm (300 CL) centerline spacing. The socket accommodates IC pins ranging from 0.008" to 0.012" diameter and provides a maximum insertion force of 300 grams with a minimum withdrawal force of 20 grams. This socket is ideal for applications requiring easy IC component testing, upgrade, and field replacement in industrial controls, medical devices, military systems, and embedded systems such as RFID door locks, elevator control boards, and CNC machine control systems.
