DESCRIPTION

1-2199299-5 is a 40-position DIP socket with dual leaf contacts designed for reliable IC-to-PCB connections. It features a 600 mil (15.24 mm) centerline spacing, through-hole solder termination, and tin contact plating, meeting lead-free (PB FREE) requirements. The socket utilizes dual leaf contacts that enlarge the contact area and ensure low and constant contact resistance, with a true closed bottom design that prevents solder and flux wicking. The insulator is constructed from 30% glass-filled PBT thermoplastic in black, and the contacts are made from phosphorous bronze. This socket is ideal for applications requiring easy IC mating and unmating, field replacement, and system flexibility in industrial controls, intelligent buildings, medical devices, and military embedded systems.
